Meet our founder

I’m Whitney Olsen, an artist from Kentucky, raised on movement, creativity, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting. Though I have always been an artist my formal training is in glassblowing but my heart was set to paint on walls that stretch bigger than most rooms. I dreamt of murals that hold light, story, and a little bit of mischief.

Right before the world paused in 2020, I found surfing, and the ocean promptly became my co-conspirator. It carried me to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Indonesia, teaching me impermanence, motion, and how to look effortlessly cool right before wiping out.

Vensco is the heartbeat of that journey. Murals, surf photography, cyanotypes, wearables — a little magic, a little edge, all meant to move people, spaces, and maybe even you. Wherever I go, Vensco follows: a world of art, myth, and playful transformation, carried everywhere with intention and a wink.

Inside
my world

Over the years, I’ve worn many hats — creating murals for surf camps, capturing waves as a surf photographer, guiding yoga classes, and leading art workshops. Each experience has shaped me into the dynamic, multi-dimensional artist I am today, blending creativity, movement, and presence in every project.

Vensco is built for collaboration. Whether it’s immersive murals, surf-inspired photography, cyanotype prints and wearables, or hands-on workshops, I love partnering with spaces and communities to create something memorable, magical, and uniquely theirs. Every collaboration is an opportunity to expand Vensco, share art with the world, and leave a trace of creativity wherever we go.
